Industry 4.0, which has its roots in the German industry, is the inspiration for NDE 4.0. The fourth industrial revolution has a subclass known as Industry 4.0. In its most basic form, Industry 4.0 refers to the use of technologies such as machine learning, cyber-physical systems (CPS), digital twins, the internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, and artificial intelligence to automate manufacturing processes (AI).
Industry 4.0 smart factories, for example, rely on automated machinery and sensors that are connected to computer systems and can collect data, learn from it, and then make production decisions.
